Negli ultimi sei anni, la coppia Pedranzini-Martinelli ha sbancato alcune classiche del pianeta ski alp, come il Trofeo Mezzalama sul Monte Rosa (prime nel 2007, 2009 e 2011), la francese Pierra Menta (vinta quattro volte dal 2006 al 2010, con due secondi posti nel 2008 e 2011) o il valdostano Tour du Rutor (conquistato nel 2006 e 2009).
Il pronostico per la prossima Sellaronda Skimarathon non può che parlare quindi delle due atlete come favorite alla vittoria, anche se dovranno senz’altro sudarsela, visto che la concorrenza non è per nulla da sottovalutare. L’altoatesina Annemarie Gross si è messa in tasca la prova del Sella nel 2010 e nel 2008, e quest’anno, in coppia mista con Ennio Dantone, chissà che sul finish di Corvara non riesca ad anticipare le scialpiniste valtellinesi. Per quanto riguarda la gara maschile, tra le 500 coppie iscritte alla Sellaronda Skimarathon 2012 spiccano i detentori del record sui 42 km di gara e vincitori di tre edizioni Guido Giacomelli e Hansjörg Lunger, che se la dovranno vedere con altri giganti del calibro di Pietro Lanfranchi e dell’ex campione del mondo Florent Troillet, dei secondi nel 2011 Graziano Boscacci e Daniele Pedrini e della coppia Lorenzo Holzknecht – Michele Boscacci, con il primo fresco vincitore del titolo europeo Team ieri nella gelida Pelvoux. Sia Giacomelli che Holzknecht, così come Pedranzini e Martinelli sono anche campioni italiani in carica.
Sulla carta – quella degli iscritti ovviamente – la prossima Sellaronda Skimarathon brilla di preziosi al collo delle teste di serie, che con la loro classe e i frontalini accesi illumineranno i 2700 metri di dislivello lungo i quattro passi dolomitici di Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella e Gardena. L’appuntamento è per venerdì alle 18.00 da Corvara, e secondo gli ultimissimi aggiornamenti meteo il freddo dei giorni scorsi dovrebbe attenuarsi anche in alta quota. Oggi in Val Badia sono scesi alcuni centimetri di neve fresca, il comitato organizzatore è fiducioso anche perché tutto l’itinerario di gara è pronto ormai da giorni per accogliere lo “sbarco” dei 1000 scialpinisti al via.

Oggi a Milano, presso Palazzo Giureconsulti a due passi da Piazza Duomo, i quattro principali eventi dell’universo bianco valdostano sono stati presentati ufficialmente, in una conferenza stampa corale dei quattro differenti comitati organizzatori con l’imprimatur della Regione Valle d’Aosta.
Un lavoro in sinergia per promuovere la località e le proposte sportive, gli eventi in questione prenderanno il via già questo fine settimana con la 32.a edizione della Marcia Gran Paradiso di sci di fondo, domenica 12, preceduta sabato dalla Mini Marcia Gran Paradiso. Gli impegni valdostani proseguiranno poi dal 5 al 10 marzo con i Campionati Mondiali Studenteschi, rassegna iridata con sci di fondo e sci alpino dedicata ai giovani, con le Finali di Coppa Europa di Sci Alpino dal 13 al 18 marzo e, infine, con il 16° Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême dal 30 marzo al 1° aprile.
“È un piacere essere qui a presentare questi quattro eventi”, ha esordito l’Assessore regionale al turismo Aurelio Marguerettaz, “un insieme di manifestazioni importanti di diverse discipline sportive, che ci permette di presentare la Valle d’Aosta in tutte le sue declinazioni, mettendo anche in luce le capacità organizzative e la grande collaborazione tra chi orchestra il tutto dietro le quinte”. Poi una battuta dedicata ai media, che negli ultimi giorni hanno dipinto un’Italia in ginocchio a causa della neve: “In Valle d’Aosta c’è un sacco di neve, le strade sono perfette, le piste fantastiche e non ci sono disagi. È giusto che si sappia. La gente può venire  a divertirsi senza patemi.”
Un lavoro che coinvolge tutta la regione e le sue montagne, come ha sottolineato il presidente ASIVA Riccardo Borbey, “in questa stagione avremo l’onore di organizzare oltre 160 eventi sportivi, di cui 40 internazionali, una dato che da solo basta a presentare la nostra regione, che è anche terra di grandi atleti di tutte le discipline invernali”.
A ricordare i tanti atleti di portata nazionale che parteciperanno ai quattro imminenti appuntamenti agonistici c’era anche il colonnello Marco Mosso del CS Esercito, il gruppo sportivo militare nel quale militano lo sciatore Roberto Nani e lo scialpinista Manfred Reichegger, e che supporterà con i propri tecnici gli eventi sportivi.
Primo degli impegni, come accennato, sarà la Marcia Gran Paradiso, organizzata dal C.O. presieduto da Ivo Charrere e presentata oggi dal sindaco di Cogne Franco Allera, il quale ha ricordato come la località sia “vocata allo sci di fondo, con i suoi 60 km di piste si presta perfettamente a questo sport”.
Dalla prima edizione del ’75, che fu già un successo con oltre 700 partecipanti, la Marcia Gran Paradiso ha fatto sempre più strada, quest’anno i campioni al via saranno molti, dagli italiani Zorzi e Morandini al pluricampione norvegese Hjelmeset, che già da domani prenderà alloggio sulle nevi valdostane. Saranno 45 km in classico con la gara valida anche per la Coppa Italia.
Goffredo Bozzi, responsabile dell’organizzazione dei Campionati Mondiali Studenteschi, ha presentato la rassegna iridata dedicata ai giovani, sottolineando come l’evento sia anche l’occasione per incontri tra ragazzi di varie nazionalità (19 quelle in gara). La manifestazione prevede anche il coinvolgimento di numerosi studenti valdostani e francesi, che collaboreranno con l’ufficio stampa e con la segreteria e che faranno da guide e interpreti per le delegazioni straniere, per una piacevole esperienza formativa. Era presente anche Luigi Chiavenuto, sindaco di Gressoney, località che ospiterà i Campionati Mondiali Studenteschi.
Subito dopo toccherà alle Finali di Coppa Europa di Sci Alpino, che interesseranno le località di Courmayeur, Pila, La Thuile ed Aosta. A lavorare per l’evento i quattro sci club di Courmayeur-Monte Bianco, Pila, La Thuile e Aosta, una sinergia simboleggiata oggi anche dalla presenza dei sindaci Fabrizia Derriard (Courmayeur), Michel Martinet (Gressan) e Francesco Stammelluti, vicesindaco di La Thuile.
Tutte le autorità locali hanno sottolineato come le montagne, le piste e le strutture valdostane siano pronte ad accogliere tutti gli appassionati di sport e di vacanza sulla neve, all’interno di scenari mozzafiato, oggi protagonisti della conferenza grazie ad un efficace filmato-cartolina con le immagini dei quattro eventi.

Tutti i volontari sono preparati alla sicurezza in montagna, così come sicuri al 100% saranno i percorsi di gara, della cui preparazione si occupa in particolare Marco Camandona del nostro staff”.

La manifestazione internazionale dedicata alle categorie Allievi e Ragazzi e nata da un’idea del giornalista trentino Rolly Marchi e del presentatore Mike Bongiorno, quest’anno è in programma il 2 e 3 marzo sugli Altipiani di Folgaria, Lavarone e Luserna, in Trentino.
Proprio in questa stessa location lo scorso marzo vennero celebrate le nozze d’oro, e tra circa un mese si ritornerà al cancelletto con la 51.a edizione, affollata come sempre da tante piccole promesse dello sci mondiale. Lo scorso anno furono 43 le nazioni in gara, per un totale di circa 300 futuri campioni.
Quest’anno il fischio d’inizio verrà dato venerdì 2 marzo, con lo slalom per la categoria Allievi (nati tra il 1997 e il 1998) sulla pista “Agonistica” di Folgaria, e lo slalom gigante per la categoria “Ragazzi” (nati nel 1999/2000) sulla pista “Salizzona”. Sabato 3 marzo, invece, gli Allievi saranno chiamati a destreggiarsi tra le porte larghe, mentre i più giovani gareggeranno tra i paletti snodati.
Ad oggi sono già 36 le squadre nazionali iscritte all’ambita competizione giovanile, tra queste anche l’India che partecipa per la prima volta in assoluto nella lunga storia del Trofeo Topolino. All’India si aggiungono Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgio, Bosnia-Erzegovina, Bulgaria, Cile, Croazia, Estonia, Finlandia, Francia, Georgia, Giappone, Gran Bretagna, Grecia, Islanda, Libano, Liechtenstein, Lussemburgo, Norvegia, Nuova Zelanda, Olanda, Polonia, Repubblica Ceca, Repubblica Slovacca, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia, Spagna, Svezia, Svizzera, oltre ovviamente all’Italia.

Come sempre saranno tanti anche gli eventi di contorno che faranno la gioia di grandi e piccini, la classica cerimonia d’apertura è prevista a Folgaria giovedì 1° marzo alle 18.30, mentre venerdì 2 ci sarà il “Party delle Nazioni”, sempre a Folgaria, inoltre il comitato organizzatore di Mauro Detassis ha aggiunto nel fine settimana molti altri interessanti appuntamenti.
La manifestazione giovanile ha rappresentato il rito di passaggio di molte superstars dell’universo bianco mondiale, dal Trofeo Topolino sono infatti transitati big di ieri e di oggi come, soltanto per citarne alcuni, Gustav Thoeni e Ingemar Stenmark, Alberto Tomba e Benjamin Raich, passando per Giorgio Rocca, Deborah Compagnoni, Davide Simoncelli, Daniela Merighetti, Manuela e Manfred Moelgg, Giuliano Razzoli e Lindsey Kildow (ex Vonn).
Proprio quest’ultima ha più volte dichiarato di ricordare molto bene l’esperienza al Trofeo Topolino, non soltanto per i meriti agonistici (vinse lo Slalom Allievi nel 1999) ma anche personali, infatti la campionessa americana ha recentemente affermato che, proprio in occasione della kermesse sportiva in Trentino, diede il primo bacio ad un giovane spasimante… del quale non ha però rivelato il nome.
Anche quest’anno il Trofeo Topolino potrà contare su una location d’eccezione come quella degli Altipiani trentini, dove lo sci alpino è di casa soprattutto grazie allo Skitour dei Forti, 125 km di piste incastonate tra le fortezze della Grande Guerra e panorami suggestivi.
Lo Skitour dei Forti si compone del Carosello Ski Folgaria e dello Ski Center Lavarone, che offrono piste per tutti i gusti e i livelli, dagli esperti ai piccoli sciatori alle prime armi. Gli Altipiani sono una meta ideale per le famiglie, sul sito dell’Apt locale (www.montagnaconamore.it) è possibile rintracciare novità e informazioni sulle speciali offerte di soggiorno dedicate.
La scorsa stagione la Skiarea di Folgaria-Lavarone-Luserna è stata premiata dall’Adac (l’Aci tedesco) e dalla sua rivista SkiGuide, dove è stata inserita tra le migliori dieci località di vacanza invernali tra Italia, Austria e Svizzera.
Al Trofeo Topolino di Sci Alpino è abbinato da anni anche un altro “torneo”, il Premio di Pittura, concorso che permette di mettere in mostra le doti artistiche dei giovani studenti, il prossimo appuntamento è per il 25 febbraio a Trento, in Piazza Duomo.
Il divertimento e il grande sci giovanile saranno dunque di scena il prossimo marzo sugli Altipiani trentini di Folgaria, Lavarone  e Luserna, con uno spettacolo sportivo che si preannuncia come sempre avvincente.
